I have complex ptsd and I had a flashback/panic attack seemingly out of nowhere tonight, although I've been feeling kinda triggered all day. It's one of few full blown flashbacks I've had but I literally felt like my body was reliving trauma (and I had no control of it) while my brain couldn't remember anything but fear. Has anyone dealt with attacks that feel like this ?

      It’s complete powerlessness.

I get them all the time. I focus on remembering that I’m safe and it’s not actually happening again, and go to my “safe space” mentally

Instead of fear though, the overwhelming emotion i get trapped with is helplessness.

I totally have. More often than not. I use medicinal CBD from the marijuana plant for them. This is on top of my anti-anxiety meds. The medicinal CBD works better for me. I’m sorry you and all of us here and elsewhere suffer from these. They’re Debilitating

Yeah those happen to me sometimes. Afterwards I get a nice cold glass of water and cuddle with my cat until I fall asleep. I never do anything too taxing after one of those episodes.

Yes, the best thing to do after one of these attacks if you just take care of yourself like you'd take care of a loved one. Some things i like to do after those attacks is journal it down, all the triggers and the flashbacks and then i usually meditate and then take a shower and "clean" myself of the attack almost and talking to your friends or having friends be there for you is always nice too
