I have been struggling with acne for a very long time now. I have tried so many treatment options. ( I am anti-accutane). My dermatologist actually gave up on trying to treat my acne. He said “I am done treating you I don’t know how to help you so I’m giving up”. Someone please help me come up with some things to try.

I've had really bad acne for a while too and when I get bad break outs I put on some rose water mixed with salt and it helps out a lot!

I probably sound crazy. But I started taking a probiotic daily and it really helped keep my acne at bay. It’s pretty much zero risk to try it, and if it helps, great!

Screw your dermatologist, I’m sorry, but he should Not have said that. You should “get a second opinion” / find a new dermatologist Bc that’s bullshit, there are SO many treatments out there for acne, something has to work for you [this is what I’m telling myself too]

Hey I'm sorry your doctor said that to you. It's really disheartening and feels hopeless, but it's not! I have very finicky skin that does not like routine (I build some kind of resistance to acne treatments after using them for too long and I have cystic acne/super oily skin). Some products that I used and cycle through are the Murad acne wash, revolution brand (at target I think), and other gentle cleansers to kind of be "placeholders" while my skin stops being so resistant.

Hey easycoaster, I’m sorry to hear about your situation. What your dermatologist told you doesn't sound professional, and I would try to look for another one. I’ve heard about treatments with laser and light to reduce acne. Is it something you've considered?
