I'm 60 years old. I've suffer from major depression disorder and I always bounced back. This time I'm having a hard time bouncing back. I feel like I have no purpose in life. I feel so lonely and empty inside. Sometimes I stay in bed for weeks. Real friends don't exist anymore and family can be worse.

Don’t have to many friends now that I’m retired! No one to talk to & I have days of feeling no purpose! I take an antidepressant now! It seems to be working! Cymbalta!

I'm sorry that you're having such a hard time. I'm 47 and have recurring major depression. I don't stay in bed, but I do feel similar to you. I have my husband and one or two good friends. Not much family. I feel like I have no purpose as well. I'm on disability. I often feel like I'm never going to be anything or make anything of my life.
