Makes sense to me-- I experience that. Lines of songs or certain phrases/words I hear just get stuck in my head. My brain just clings to them. Can be for a day or a week. They come up randomly too, as someone here described, like a tic. I don't tend to vocalize them but sometimes I do, when I'm alone particularly or around my spouse.

I definitely have that! I also have mental tics, which are that but insistent and unvoluntary like physical and vocal tics.

@rj.crow are you comfortable sharing more about that? I'm really curious what thats like and how similar it might be to my experience
@SunInAugust With mental echolalia, repeating the sound or phrase is a positive stim and something I choose to do. I actually use it to calm down mental tics. With the tics, it’s usually pretty distressing and I have very little control over it. It’s like my brain gets totally obsessed and can’t stop repeating it, even if I really want to. It almost drowns out my other thoughts
I definitely think this is a thing! I get certain lines of songs in my head that repeat over and over. Also, lines from shows and movies in response to things.
@MatchaBunn I get the smallest phrases sometimes. Or single words. Or if I have a big feeling, a phrase around it will repeat over and over and over
