Did anyone notice that cognitive behavior therapy caused you to develop severe depression? Before I started I had anxiety and panic attacks but once I opened up and relived memories from my past (writing everything like a story) I developed severe depression with SI. Which I never had before writing down the trauma like I was told to do. I'm trying medicine right now but just started. Hoping it'll help.

Most time anxiety and depression are comormid. For me my depression causes anxiety, but sounds like maybe for you your depression presents itself as anxiety? I'm not a Dr but I do have a lot of experience with therapists and individual research. Like another person said, sometimes you might get worse before it gets better. ❤️ Keep plugging away at it, and remember that it may take many different therapist to find one that is the right fit. It can be a sign of growth if one therapist works for awhile but then you suddenly feel like you need something different. Good luck and much love to you as you heal!

it’s always hard to take that first step. I’ve been in therapy in August and started back up a few weeks ago and it’s been rough. we talk about my trauma and are working on my emotions and it’s a fucking struggle. I journal too but I do find it does help me and make me feel calm about certain things.

Sometimes getting worse is a step in getting better. The issues you're struggling with now have probably always been there just in the back of your mind, you have to acknowledge your hurt to start healing. The medicine will help if you give it a chance and find the right ones
