Does anyone else have extremely vivid, unsettling/scary dreams frequently? I’ve been having this problem for a while now and I get scared to go to sleep because of them sometimes. Is there anything I can do to help?
I get them all the time, I don't have ways to make them stop (unfortunately), but I cope with the surreal/mystical dreams by drawing pictures, or writing them down if I don't have the motivation for art. As for the nightmares, I listen to calming music and take deep breaths after particularly disturbing dreams, and maybe write them down if I'm comfortable doing so. I'm able to then show the drawings and writings to my therapist and he gives me feedback and his own thoughts on what it could mean and how to calm down after having the dreams.
