Well, I don't exactly know how this app works yet but I thought I'd give it a try. But let's just say I already have bad anxiety that becomes worsened by the thought or presence of someone specific and it causes me to have anxiety attacks so bad that I can't move

@Poplar I know how you feel. I used to do this with my Dad. He was bipolar and often threatened my mother and I. I would lay paralyzed in my bed until they were over. I even had to fight to go to the bathroom because he slept in the living room which you have to walk through to get there.. he passed away, and I still had them. They're related to an illness now, but people tell me the stuff with my Dad is the initial cause. I'm sorry you're having to go through this. I know you feel trapped at times. Find gentle things that you do appreciate in life and focus on those. In a bad panic, just breathing and counting or starting off until it passes can help. Just tell yourself you're in a thunderstorm, and it will pass at some point.

I have dealt with this too. For me, it’s been my dad. Thankfully, I don’t have to live with him anymore. But I have had to go no contact with him. I even had to put up boundaries with my family members that I don’t want to hear about him and I don’t want them to update him about my life. It’s hard but totally worth it. Finally being away from him has slowly allowed me to start to feel safe.

I’ve been there. My ex was a huge anxiety trigger, and my dad still is. The obvious advice is to cut them from your life or limit their presence in it as much as possible, but that’s not always possible. I live with my dad. It’s not fun. I’m sorry you’re going through this! I wish I could help more than just being available to talk.

@Poplar I'm sorry you had to go through it too. for me it's my mom's husband and luckily I don't live with him but my mom won't seperate from him after seeing what he does and says to me. but I hope things are better for you!
