the only time I didn't have any symptoms was while I was pregnant, I've tried taking antidepressants, not a fan, and I cannot take birth control as it seems to make my symptoms worst. had anyone found something that helps them? It usually starts 2 weeks before I start my period :(

For my pmdd I am on a single hormone birth control pill called Errin (norethindrone) it's the only one that i have tried that doesn't turn me in to a nightmare crazy person, and it helps keep my cycles regular so that the hormones don't build up for too long and cause disregulation. Because of how well Errin works for me i was able to stop taking the anti depressants and anti anxiety meds i had been on for 5 years.

I am the same way. It's like only one week out of the month that I'm (mostly) symptom free. I'm going to talk to my dr about intermittent dosing with zoloft. The struggle is very real. I keep getting hives before I bleed too.

I had the exact same problem. I couldn’t seem to take either. Last August I finally saw a doctor who talked to me about Wellbutrin. I was skeptical but so miserable that I was willing to try. So I did and it has done well for me. Then in November my gyn talked with me about birth control to stop periods because endometriosis was making my anemia worse. I was really scared to try it but it also has worked well. I’m not 100% where I want to be but this time last year I was at a point where I couldn’t do anything but lie around. So I recommend explaining these things to your doctor and see what they think might work for you. I’m sorry you are suffering, I know how miserable it feels.

I found that birth control that has estrogen doesn’t work for me. So I have an implant that has progesterone. Only one hormone instead of two. Also, i do take Zoloft and Wellbutrin, but I used to take Prozac. I found that it might take time to find a dosage and type that works for you. My body metabolizes Zoloft better than Prozac, they are alike but the small differences make a big difference for me. Along with all this I think finding a balance in your environment and diet can make a big difference !!
