Struggling to find PMDD medication that works with my psych meds

Has anyone had luck finding medications to take cyclically with your menstrual cycle? It seems like I can’t escape the up and down PMDD brings even on birth control, so I want to be able to work with my psych meds to give that extra boost when I need it. However, my current prescriber does not seem interested in adding in anything except daily meds. I’m so frustrated and scared to add in more meds or higher doses because I’m hyperaware of the changes in my body and historically have been very sensitive to most medications. I’m tired of the side effects causing more stress than help. And the stress makes it hard to talk in person, but my psych office doesn’t have a messaging option yet. So I feel like I’m just wasting appointments not being heard.

My dr was the same way, I had to show medical studies proving the effectiveness of zoloft for pmdd when taken only during luteal phase. Some people take a constant lower daily dose and increase the dose the week before their period. Personally Remeron and zoloft have been miraculously beneficial for me, not cures but a good 40% reduction in symptom severity and frequency. Cannabis is also my go to. Don't be afraid to find another doctor as well if you feel your current one really isn't hearing you. I've had psychiatrist drop me like a bad habit for the dumbest things. Find somebody that's gunna be in your corner.

Zoloft is the only thing that has helped with my PMDD, including pain control from cramps.

i have other mental health conditions so i take prozac (fluoxetine) on the highest dose daily but my psych said that some people with PMDD are able to take it only/at a higher dose during ovulation/when PMDD symptoms are at their worst because of its half life? not sure but might be worth the conversation 💕

how much do you take? I definitely think there is some trouble metabolizing at play with me, just because of the other issues I have.
