Might just be lack of education and knowledge, at least for some people. Have met some conservatives who just lacked the full perspective and have adapted some of their views after they learned more about some subjects
I believe it’s the ability of the top grifters to take advantage of people’s weakness and negative emotions. Politics probably wouldn’t be so extremely divided if it was more organic. But those manipulators pull people farther into the right.
