I have a question and I'm curious if any of you have heard it too. Has anyone ever told you that you don't look like a diabetic? I've been told that and it always bothers me because there is no "look" for diabetics. I was curious if I was the only one or not. Keep on Keeping On!

haha has totally happened to me. i think it has to do with the stereotype of diabetetics living an unhealthy lifestyle and they are just confusing type 1 and type 2

I’ve been told that because I am overweight and have type 1. Typically type 1 folks are thin. So most people expect that I have type 2.

Yeah it’s a common misconception that type 1 and type 2 are the same. I wish they had different names instead of both being called diabetes. Would save us from a lot of stereotypes and general confusion

Yes I was told that because people expect that diabetic people are fat. Most people don’t know that there are types for diabetes
