Dealing with Hearing Loss: My Silent World

I am not sure how to deal with hearing loss, I'm slowly realizing how silent my world has gotten. it's scary and depressing.

I know it's really scary to realize how much sound you're losing. I have worn hearing aids since I was 4, but thought that I was losing more hearing. My current hearing aids weren't strong enough and that was causing me to feel like I wasn't hearing. I'm not sure if you've gotten any exposure to American Sign Language, but I'd definitely look into it. It'll give you a way to communicate with the people around you still without having to hear you. I hope those around you will be willing to put in the effort to learn it too so you don't feel so isolated.

I’m so sorry to hear this! I was born with a mild to moderate hearing loss and have been hard of hearing since birth. Just know that you’re NOT alone, despite how isolating it can feel. Try and find Facebook groups for ppl like us! That sense of community is always nice 🤗
