Young and Chronically Ill: Let's Connect!

Im 17 and chronically ill with several conditions. It’s incredibly isolating as a young person with conditions that are more common with older adults. If you’re also younger, late teens-mid 20s let me know a little about yourself (your pronouns, hobbies, a fun fact, etc.) id love to make your acquaintance

I felt this one a lot. An ongoing joke my mom says to me is that I’m “an old lady” because I’m constantly taking medication using painkillers etc. and it’s all in good humor but it really gets to me sometimes when I think about how I’m so young and so sick. It makes me worry when I hear my 50-60 year old family members tell me “you’re young and you don’t have this pain so live your life while you don’t have pains!!”, I just laugh it off but in my mind I know I’m doomed because I already have these pains. Anyways, I just turned 18 the other week and my pronouns are she/they, my hobbies are constantly changing because of my adhd lol. But for the most part, I love drawing, journaling, writing, and fashion. Dm me if you ever wanna rant or just need a friend :)

hello <3 my pronouns are she/her and i turned 18 in September and have been dealing with a lot of "mysterious issues" as the doctors would tell me since i was about 6 or 7, ultimately being AMPS/Fibro. A little bit about me is I really enjoy tons of different music, and binge watching movies/TV shows ( all recommendations are encouraged ), as well as reading! Though sometimes it gets really frustrating having a big flare up with pain in the middle of a movie or trying to enjoy myself, I've found that certain movies or songs that I turn on, make me calm down faster. <3

Hi! My pronouns are he/they, and I’m 17. 18 in a little over a week. I have EDS and Fibromyalgia and I’m constantly told by random people that I’m too young... so I get it. That said, I love cartoons, music, and art! I also really enjoy science but I find school science pretty boring. Fun fact about me: I once ate cat litter... I was 4. It was clean. Still gross, though. :^P

Heya - I’m Rachel (she/her) I just turned 20 and love nature animals and the environment. I also love watching new shows, playing new games, and talking to people. I’m an Aquarius if that’s something that matters to you. I’ve had horrible depression since I was 16, also stomach problems that got a lot worse recently, not formally diagnosed with anxiety but it is a symptom of my depression. I also get a lot of back pain I was told might be fibromyalgia by a neurologist. But yeah I love talking to people and helping people so always feel free to reach out :)

i completely understand. i’m kaytlynn, my pronouns are she/they (i don’t care which!!). and fun facts are always hard for me because my disabilities make it hard to enjoy hobbies or activities. i never know what to say about me and just default to pets or family. so i have a pomsky!! she’s half pomeranian, half husky. she’s my best friend. she follows me everywhere and can always tell when it’s a bad day for me.

Heyo! I’m 16 and have had craniofacial issues since birth but was diagnosed with hip dysplasia around 2018-19. I look very different than other people at my HS and have had over 40+ surgeries to correct my differences, so I get a lot of what you’re going through :)

Hi there! My pronouns are they/them and I'm 22. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia when I was 18. I have way, way too many houseplants and I have a couple different kinds of pets as well. I have many conditions too, gastroparesis and EDS and the aforementioned fibro, etc. When not lying on the floor (floor time is the best) I'm probably writing about something or other. Nice to meet you!

don’t ever let anyone get to u. It’s non sense that people are telling u that. Because it’s not all in your head. I don’t like it when people do that. Because that is very hurtful for people like us that have these conditions. I had to say something. I’m older I am a 51 year old female. I am so so sorry you are going through that. You also are over reacting. Those kind of people you just have to ignore even if it’s family. I hope this helps you.

Hi I can relate ❤️ My pronouns are she/her I love lots of different forms of art (sketching, painting, sculpting, digital art, etc) and I love being around animals, they give me so much happiness. For a fun fact? I was born under water on St. Patty’s day and I’m a Pisces and love water but still can’t swim, even though I try to learn every summer. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I hope you can find a good support system among us in this app and I wish you the best!
