Withdrawal Symptoms from Venlafaxine

Do you also experience brain zaps and other withdrawal symptoms if you miss a dose or are late with a dose? How long past your usual time of taking it do your zaps or other symptoms start? I can tell 4 hours later if I have forgotten to take my venlafaxine at lunch that day.

if the doctor ever decides something isn’t right or you don’t need this medication. He/she will wean you off and put you on a new med.

Yes extreme brain zaps. I can tell at about 12 hours late. One time I was out of meds for 72 hours and ended up at the hospital with non stop tears and brain zaps

Brain zaps is the best description of that and I've never heard it called that before! Yes! I just stopped taking this med 2 weeks ago, I had been on it 3 years, and that was rough. The zaps started the afternoon of the first day I stopped them and continued through yesterday.

I take XR at 225 mg daily and I take my meds every day at 8pm. If I miss a dose, I start to realize something is up the next day anywhere from 10am-12pm (usually). I don’t think I get the brain zaps that everyone talks about but I definitely feel like I’m going to faint—and I’ve never fainted in my life.
