Wheelchair use for HSD: Beneficial or Not?

Has anyone found the use of a wheelchair beneficial for HSD? If yes, how so. If not, why not?

I think a wheelchair could help me, but I’m to scared of how people would look at me if I used one. Instead I use platform crutches (still get weird looks) but feel somewhat more normal
