Feeling Alone with Type 1 Diabetes

Any other T1D feel absolutely alone even though they have a support person? I know no diabetics and even it’s nice to have a support person they will never understand. It would be nice to have a diabuddy.

YES! Even tho I have amazing support from my boyfriend, I am the only T1D on both sides of my family & in my circle of friends. No one else associated with my life is Type 1. To say I feel alone is an understatement! It’s honestly harder than the symptoms sometimes!

Yes. Not friends anymore with anyone locally who has T1D. Very lonely and easy to isolate myself especially with depression symptoms.

I think it’s just nice to have people on an app like this one to share with. ❤️

Well for me at least, the thing about having a real friend with diabetes is that we kinda have to have more in common than just being diabetic, you know? It’s always nice to meet/chat with someone who also has it, but you’re not the only one who feels something still missing sometimes!

Yup. I found one person who was also a diabetic, but haven't talked to them since meeting.
