Journaling helps me a lot, but it doesn't help when I set goals for it(like trying to do it every day or at a certain time or about a certain subject, because that sets me up for disappointment and not wanting to do it). I just keep my journal and pen easily visible and when I can't think of something else to do I write just whatever im thinking even if that mean writing "I don't know what to write" and just following the stream of consciousness. Also tracking your mood can help you see your progress. For me it's hard to tell if I'm making progress because when I'm sad I tend to only remember being sad and when I'm happy I tend to only remember being happy (although this may be in part to my dissociative disorder, I don't think it entirely is.) I use the app Daylio

Probably heard this a lot but therapy really helps. Talking with a licensed professional and working out ways to cope and how to live. It's nice.
