Vivid Nightmares from Gabapentin: How to Handle It?

Does anyone else get vivid nightmares from gabapentin? maybe it's my SSRI..idk. How do you handle it? I am so afraid to go to sleep at night because I get such violent vivid nightmares. I wake up sweating and my jaw is sore from clenching.( I wear a mouth guard) idk what to do. even if I go to sleep in a good mood I wake up with my heart pounding. Any advice?

I have nerve damage and take Gabapentin as well. I do not notice this symptom myself.

I have nerve damage also. I just weaned myself to 300mg in the am and 300 at night. I wish I could stop altogether but the nerves get angry!!

This one is scary. I had it with a PTSD medication. I use gabapentin for nerve pain. I have to agree with the others. A lower dose may be best. I'm someone who can stop taking things when I feel it's not doing me good, but I do tell my psychiatrist or make an appointment to see him to speak on the matter.

Maybe, it's for my restless legs. My Dr recently raised the dose to the max because it had stopped working for my rls.i am going to see a neurologist so maybe they can help me find the right dosage or a different med. It's awful. I can barely function sometimes. I just hate it. Last night I dreamt a family member was murdered and someone was keeping his head as a trophy. I cried throughout the day just thinking about it. I am very tired of being tired.

Wow! That sounds awful! I have never had that happen. Can you cut back the dose??
