I was diagnosed with psychotic depression shortly after my original depression diagnosis. I was having hallucinations of animals and car crashes that were so real I'd actually try to interact with them. All of this was happening at my lowest point with the worst depressive episode I've ever had. It helped me a ton to be able to talk about it with my therapist and was shortly after put on an antipsychotic alongside my antidepressant meds. I haven't had such severe hallucinations since, but if you might also think you have psychosis, I'd recommend talking to a professional about it. I felt very alone and was often really stigmatized by my peers for being 'crazy'. But I wouldn't be overly worried, just cautious. The visions can make you believe things that aren't real; can cause you to try to walk into traffic unknowingly or end up injured. I'd just be aware and careful until they either go away or you get meds. Either way, I'm here if you have any more questions or need anymore support. I was really terrified when I started getting hallucinations and I would've loved to have someone who I could've just related to

This is very interesting, I feel like noticing these things may not be real is a good step in the right direction. Maybe awareness in knowing it will pass might help you to stay calmer next time? I definitely feel for your worry, but I’d try to stay as level headed as possible in this situation though. Try to accept your current experience so you have a better chance of gaining back control, resistance and worry will only make this more challenging imo. Hope you feel better soon🫶🏽
