Connecting with Others with Essential Thrombocythemia

I am a 73 year old Vietnam veteran, was in the US Air Force Security Service stationed in Danang RVN 1970/1971. I was exposed to Agent Orange, during my tour of duty.During a pre-op blood test in 2007,I was diagnosed with Essential Thrombocythemia.....Was put on a regimen of Hydroxyurea and will be on it for the rest of my life.I hope to connect with other people with this extremely rare, incurable, but manageable blood cancer......

Hi Namvet, I just found this app. Nice to meet you virtually. I was diagnosed with ET on January 2019 after a regular blood lab. Then more blood labs were made and I had the result of the Jack2 positive too. My platelets had been under control since I’m taking hidroxyurea for 2 years now. I’m 43 years old

I’m a 62 year old lab tech diagnosed with ET, JAK2 mutation . Started hydroxyurea and liver enzymes skyrocketed . Read the side effects and it said liver failure and all other things it can cause! Anybody change from hydroxyurea to interferon?
