Has anyone gone untreated/undiagnosed for Lyme disease for a long time and could you describe your experience? I have a debilitating mystery condition that has been suggested to be Lyme disease and the timing matches up to a period of time that I was the most exposed, these symptoms started less than a year after I was spending all my weekend time with a tick ridden dog that died before its 2nd birthday. I've been struggling with this for over a decade and I'm very sick pretty consistently.

One user shared their experience of being undiagnosed with Lyme disease for a long time: "I believe I contracted Lyme in 2008, was not diagnosed until 2012. My symptoms are mostly manageable for the last few years." Another user mentioned that they had symptoms like hair thinning, skin changes, painful periods, itching, weight gain, gas, nausea, vomiting, and headaches before being tested for Lyme disease. They didn't remember a tick or rash but tested positive for Lyme and started treatment with doxycycline.
