I’m sure it varies person to person! I have had ptsd for about 6 years and was finally diagnosed, I’ve been seeking treatment for the past 2 years through EMDR therapy. It’s truly helped me work through some things in my head I didn’t fully understand before.

would you mind sharing your experience with EMDR? I’ve been offered multiple times but the thought of revisiting past trauma in detail scares me, especially saying it all aloud to my therapist

one thing I’ve loved about my therapist is her genuine interest in getting to know and understand and recognize my triggers. Finding one that you are comfortable with is key! It starts off very slow so you’re not just bombarded with your past trauma. My biggest takeaway is that I am enough. 💜

It can be similar for similar situations ie car wrecks might been several people have a hard tike driving again if they ever do. But we are all unique humans who will experience things differently over all
