Is it okay to not completely understand your situation when having DID? I *know,* but sometimes I have trouble with it.

I'm lost and don't know what's going on most of the time. Confusion is my state of mind. I don't have access to most of my memories its a black hole. But was surprised to find out my sisters don't either does DID run in families?

Of course. In part, it's one of the main reasons for this disorder. In a sense, you're not supposed to understand it because it's protecting you, if you fully understood it, it wouldn't be protecting you from that info anymore. Does that make sense? It's still very frustrating. I'm one who has to know everything about everything, and it's really hard not understanding yourself in that way
