I completely understand, I have a habit of associating feelings/emotions with something that is irrelevant. For example.. If I am having a depressive/anxious episode while doing, seeing, hearing, smelling something I will sometimes forever associate that smell, sound, etc, with that feeling. Then it will make me depressed, anxious, etc when seeing, smelling. This happens with things I watch, the seasons, activities, food, scents, etc. Here recently it is my house, I have been going through an extremely difficult time with my depression and anxiety. I am really trying to not feel like this but it is so upsetting being in my own house! It also doesn't help that my boyfriend and his dad do not understand how I can't just turn it off. It's exhausting.
