I used to be vegetarian but since UC I’ve found that eating more meat has been helpful for whatever reason. In general, it’s much more bland compared to my original diet, but it gets the job done. I tend to avoid spicy food (I mainly cooked Asian and had to swap) and have cut out caffeine beyond the emergency energy which has helped a lot for me.
I have had UC for many years. As you know sometimes it doesn’t bother you . I try to stay away from wheat as much as possible and no milk. If you eat a lot of grains one day don’t do any the next day. To much for your stomach to handle. I am sure you know about the white die. Chicken and plain white rice for a few days will help you a lot. I seem to do okay on sour dough bread. Rice Crispy are good but make sure you drink Milk that is lactose free.
I was asked years ago to avoid fatty foods, coffee, caffeine and anything with spicy because my UC affected my upper GI. Milk will hurt you or your colon big time
