Looking for advice on Ulcerative colitis diet

hi. just wondering if anyone had success with a special diet for controlling Ulcerative colitis, or foods that makes it better, I've had it for 20 years but haven't quite figured out what kind of diet that might help.

Hello! Nice to meet a fellow long-timer; I’ve had UC for over 20 years, also. As you know, there are a lot of diets out there for ulcerative colitis! Unfortunately the majority target managing symptoms and not inflammation. The Mediterranean Diet and the SCD diet have shown some improvement in inflammation. However, there is no one diet for ulcerative colitis. In addition to following a Mediterranean diet, avoiding any know trigger foods for you (different for everyone and non-existent for some people), and talking with your doctor about making sure you are on the best medication for your situation, I would also recommend increasing omega-3 intake (fish, flaxseed, olive oil, nuts, etc) and avoiding intake of emulsifiers and gums (found in most processed foods), per recent guidelines that have been published for diet and ulcerative colitis. Hope this helps!
