Trouble getting Topamax/Trokendi XR from pharmacy

Thank you so much for the help from both of you. My CVS is giving me topiramate (one month Topamax generic the next Trokendi generic). I don’t know how I feel bc every month I get a headache at the beginning and being told to take it at a different time than I used to really changed me. I am so sorry that this has happened to you. I have had no problems with getting my topamax, my insurance covers the name brand. My pharmacy is amazing and knows my medications and knows that if they are running low that they are going to need to order them soon for me. And this is not a small pharmacy, it is a large CVS. I am so sorry for you. Each pharmacy is different, I had a terrible experience at my local CVS, so I transferred all prescriptions to the CVS that my mom goes to 2 towns over and they have truly been amazing and so helpful. I would recommend calling pharmacys and letting them know when you have prescriptions coming through so if they need to order it, they can do it and it can come in a day or two. We really have to advocate for ourselves in medications that are potential lifesaving medications.

I'm sorry to hear that you had a seizure after being seizure free for almost 3 years! That must have been so frustrating to experience 😕 I take the medication for migraines, but in the UK, we have also had supplier issues. Just before Christmas, my dad had to make a 4 hour round trip just to collect a prescription for me as nowhere locally had them stocked 🙄. I hope things resolve for you 🤞🏻
