Trouble Eating: Is It Just Me?

I've heard that feeling like you have a lump in your throat is a symptom of anxiety.

This happens to my dad and my brother-in-law. My dad has a lot of scar tissue in his esophagus from long-term acid reflux that makes it narrower than it should be. My brother-in-law has an autoimmune disorder that causes an allergic reaction to several different types of food. His esophagus swells and it can be hard to swallow food.

I have this happens. I have a tendency to eat too fast and to not chew my food thoroughly enough.

This happens to my brother all the time. He’s just stopped eating certain foods after a while.

Yes! I choke while taking pills sometimes. I've done it to the point where I throw up. Awful!
