Has Topamax helped anyone with Bipolar 1 Disorder for mood stabilization (even if in conjuncture with other med)?!?! I’m on Carbamazepine but it’s causing a lot of weight gain and I have a long history of an eating disorder so it’s extremely triggering. Please, if Topamax had helped you please reach out! 💚

I’ve been on topamax for 10 years. I started on 75 mg and now I’m on 50mg. A lot of people claim it causes sedation and brain fog, but I haven’t experienced that. It hasn’t had any effect on my appetite like it does for some people. I also take lamictal and lexapro. It definitely helps with mood stabilization for me, but I consider lamictal to be my main medication.
