Tonsillectomy for Recurring Tonsil Stones: Advice Needed

Hey all! I'm having my tonsils removed this Thursday and I'm a little nervous. Have any of you had your tonsils removed because of recurring tonsil stones? Was it worth it? Do you have any advice for recovery or prep? thank you!
