I try and treat a lot of my overthinking the same way I treat intrusive thoughts. As sort of a thing disconnected from myself. Like if I’m overthinking that my gf is mad at me, I’ll just be like no that’s not me thinking that, if she is upset with me she’ll tell me and if not, that’s not my problem. And honestly for me, communicating whatever it is I’m overthinking helps a lot. Saying it out loud can help you see how outlandish it might be, and it opens a line of communication with whoever (if that’s the case) you’re overthinking about. And other times I just sort of say, you know what I’ll deal with this tomorrow. If its that important I’ll remember it, but most of the time it’s just me spiraling and I won’t think about it until the next time I am, if that makes sense.

I’d like to know the answer for this too. Sometimes I lay in bed at night and my mind just drives me insane with overthinking

Sometimes I just sort of give up on overthinking if that makes sense. Like, I’ll just be like ok I’m tired of this and I don’t try and fight it anymore. Sometimes this helps but not all the time, I notice I feel more calm and can focus better when I just let the thoughts come but don’t give them much mind.
