For nausea I keep a bottle of Peppermint essential oil with me at all times. Helps immediately and it's natural.

Thanks! I'll definitely look into the buspirone. I'm taking clonazepam for my anxiety but if buspirone can help my tummy.. that would be great.

I do typical gastroparesis things: Zofran, phenergan, and ginger for nausea. Heat and laying on my left side for abdominal pain. I take meclizine for nausea and pyridostigmine for motility. They all help to some degree - with zofran and phenergan being most helpful I think. But I actually have two drugs that help with the intersection of gastroparesis and anxiety. Researchers are currently looking at how buspirone and olanzapine can increase stomach motility. Buspirone is anti-anxiety med that has been great for helping my anxiety. Olanzapine is actually an atypical anti-psychotic, but it is also used for people with severe anxiety. I was taking both of these before my gastroparesis diagnosis, but my doctor told me they have likely been helping me manage my symptoms for awhile. Buspirone has very few side effects, so it might be worth exploring! Olanzapine has more risk (like tardive dyskinesia), and it has the frustrating side effect of mental hunger (so hard when everything makes you feel so sick). Good luck!!
