hey! I was wondering if anyone else has tips for losing weight with autism. I have very specific safe foods that aren't very healthy and I stim by eating sometimes. I don't necessarily have food aversions, but it is so hard to not eat my safe foods in excess. any advice helps ❤️

Hey Boogs :) I've been starting to go for more walks with my dog. It helps that I can take my time and I'm with my best friend whilst doing it. I'm in the same boat as you with the safe foods (they're mostly carbs), and to be honest, I'm not eating them any less than before, but I am trying to eat more of the veg that I like alongside. I bought myself a Fitbit to count my steps, and I've been focusing on that as I walk to help ground myself with being in an overwhelming situation. It was hard to get into, so I focused first on doing 50 steps, then 100, then 200, etc. I think I get up to 6000 now before I have to come home. If you're unable to go in public to do this, you could walk around your house or your garden. I do this when I'm having a more difficult day. Walking is super good for your mind and health, and it is something you can control the environment, surrounding noise, and distance of, so it's very reassuring. I hope this helps, even a little. ❤️‍🩹
