Don’t know if this is ok — But maybe discuss a medication called Promethazine with the nurses or doctors prior to the surgery. It’s given quote often for glitters and anxiety before and after surgery. Prayers to you!

I know you should not shave the area 2 weeks prior to your surgery! 🙏

On the day of your surgery, Try to joke with your hospital care team. Talk about whatever. Put on your favorite music. Be honest with them too. Sometimes they can help with anxiety. Don't be afraid to ask questions too. You can keep it light before you take that surgery nap lol. It's ok to acknowledge the scary feelings and cope with humor.

I don’t know much about nephroptosis, but if it’s causing you lots of pain than I’d just think about how much better life will feel after it’s gone. Just make sure you don’t get completely comfortable with the idea of it being gone, because you still need to get up and live the next day if it doesn’t go perfectly as planned. If you’re just worried about the actual surgery and it’s procedure, I wouldn’t be worried at all. You’re body is meant to rebuild itself and it will do so very well. I had a procedure last year where everything that could have gone wrong, went wrong, and I’m still fine today. (They had to pull me out of anesthesia, leave the whole site open, infection, etc.) Besides that, I’m still here today and I’m chilling. They have every tool there to keep you safe. If you need to talk to someone about it, there’s a ton of people here to talk to, including myself, that I’m sure know a lot about surgery and the prep for it.

Hey! I hope everything still works out despite the COVID test you mentioned. As long as you don’t have any respiratory issues when you go in for it, I’m sure it’ll be fine. If you do it’s very important to tell them, but don’t worry the worst that can happen is an overnight hospital stay. I had one while sick and that happened to me, but everything was okay. Anyways, the way I’ve prepared myself for surgeries is that I try and envision how my body is going to be different after, and how I’m going to feel that. I don’t know if the surgery you’re getting is to relieve pain or discomfort or if it’s for a higher medical resolve, but if it’s not for pain then you can at least think about how much better off your going to be once that’s fixed. Some of us do have a lot of things with us, but getting one thing off the list is always a good feeling, so think about that. Just one less thing to worry about.

What worked for me is just constantly thinking that I’ll feel better after. Also deep breathing the night before and morning of the surgery :>
