Tips for Coping with Hypermobility Diagnosis and Physical Therapy

I just got diagnosed with hypermobility and I'm terrified at the 8-12 weeks of physical therapy I'll have to start now. I want to know tips on how to keep up with the exercises and the stress that it could cause.

Hi there! I’ve been diagnosed with hypermobility for quite some time now. And honestly I think that doing physical therapy changed my life. It has been helping me become stronger and learning to deal with this, I hope that your physical therapist helps you out in way that benefit you because it took sometime to find a physical therapist that actually helped me out. It might be stressful because some of the exercises might be difficult but for me I like to think about it as it’s helping me out for my own good and it will help me in the long run. At first it will be challenging to adapt but you’ll get used to it! Keep a positive mindset and always do your exercises at home every to build up your muscles so they can become stronger. For me it’s been hard keeping the mind set that physical therapy is not hurting me but instead benefiting me. Find a good support system and talk about how it makes you feel. And if you don’t have anyone you think will understand I’m here for you because sometimes I feel like I’m alone and no one understands so just send me a text and we can help each other out! :)
