Yes I know about the "rise in tics" and they're blaming a girl named Evie Meg for it. She's a girl with TS from tiktok (thistrippyhippie is her username) and it's absolutely sickening to me because she isn't the cause for it at all. She's just educating people.

^^ @royalty that’s one of the things that bothers me about this thing. it totally demonizes people with tics just making content, especially those trying to educate people about them. it made me feel like shit too because i thought that i would be “spreading” it to others unless i’m like. suppressing them yknow? my neurologist even said that these creators play up their disorder for “monetary gain”, which may be true for people who are faking but… i’m sorry who wants to trigger their tics? stop stigmatizing neurodivergents for literally just existing :T

Literally 😭😭. Evie is so nice too and she also has instagram and youtube so she's not just making herself tic or have seizures or lock up or anything foe a couple of minutes and then going back to normal. She even wrote a book about what it's like to live with Tourette's and all people are doing is calling it a scam :/

i feel like i had smaller tics before i used tiktok to the point where i didn’t know what they were but yes as the rise in tics being recorded on tiktok i definitely started feeling stronger urges to tic to the point where i would come home after work and have an hour/two hour long tic attack on and off everyday. i had to stop using the app and since then my tics have evened out but i do believe that watching all those tiktoks made me hyper aware of my tics and triggered them to get much worse.
