When/how do you take your thyroid medication? I’m on levothyroxine and I know it works best when not combined with food or other medications. I’m great about taking the medication every day but I’m not great at not taking it at the same time as other things. I’m worried that’s messing with its efficacy. Should I switch to taking all my other medications at night? How long should I wait before drinking coffee? Any other tips or tricks that work for you?

@Roasted_marshmallow Same. That happened to me too with the omeperazole.

I take all my meds with a shot glass filled with milk every morning before I rush off to work (a shot glass is the perfect amount of milk for me to take my morning meds and I don't have to dirty up a regular cup for just a splash of milk😅) but after that I don't really have time to eat until 10 or 11 so I have a empty stomach for a few hours. I know that I prob shouldn't take them all at the same time but I am not waking up a extra 30 minutes early just to take 1 med. Not happinin' 😅 I love my sleep

I take it alone, in the morning, with water and at least 30 minutes before I eat or your anything else. I take omeperazole for some esophagus issues and was told that stomach meds can block absorption if the levothyroxine.

@Roasted_marshmallow do you have acid reflux? I do, and I take Pepcid at night sometimes. I did not know it could affect the levo absorption. I take my levo in the morning

I'm on a college schedule which is French for no schedule so I routinely take mine whenever I wake up! I know I didn't eat 6 hours prior and I don't eat breakfast so I don't worry about that 30 minutes after!

My doctor told me that it's best to take in the morning on an empty stomach and don't eat an hour before or after!

I literally take all of my meds at night. Levothyroxine included... my levels are stable. Im not saying you should follow what I do lol, but... thats just me. If I dont take all my meds at night, I will forget in the morning. 🤷‍♀️

For me I take mine in the morning and set multiple alarms so I can wake up on time. I usually also wait about 30 mins before eating or drinking anything besides water
