Hello! A question for ladies that have irregular periods due to thyroid issues... So it was confirmed to me when I was around 14 or so that I had issues with my thyroid. I was given a medication to help regulate it and it got it back under control and I was also given a birth control that helped regulate my periods. Both medicines did exactly what they were supposed to and were very helpful. My question is... is there a way to get my periods back on track and regulated but not be prevented from pregnancy? I am aiming to be regulated and fertile 100%. Is there anyone else who knows this feeling and knows a potential solution?

It sounds like the reason for your irregular periods was the thyroid imbalance. If you stop taking birth control and keep taking the drug for the thyroid, I believe you will get normal periods. But best to ask you doctor before you do change anything

The periods are irregular because some hormone in the body is out of balance. I recommend getting some labs that test your hormones to see what is deregulated, then find a way to regulate that without relying on the birth control.

My gynocologist told me that to regulate I should stay on birth control until I wanna get pregnant and when I do want to I can try to go off of it, but if it's not regular I can take pills to induce ovulation. Talk to your doctor, and good luck πŸ’•
