Throat Pain and Swallowing Difficulty

what would cause pain in the center of the throat/back of the mouth with inflammation and occasional problems swallowing? It is not tonsil, lymph node, or saliva gland related. it feels like it is directly related to the swallowing muscles but also affects the areas below and in between the tonsils. Any ideas/suggestions greatly appreciated!

I saw an ENT and still don't know what's going on. He only looked at tonsils, lymph nodes, and saliva glands. He seems to dismiss my concerns.

Try a Gastroenterologist they will look at your stomach and esophagus. The pain could be in your esophagus. This can look and see if there is a problem. Granted talk is always first, but you can explain the problem so they know what to look for, then schedule you and go look for the source of the pain.
