I haven't been to therapy regularly because of cost. Insurance doesn't cover it. However, in order to allow my ESA into college dorms, I need approval from a certified mental health counselor, therapist, or psych. Is it worth it to spend the money again? Is there a cheaper option?

Perhaps, if you can wait a bit, a counselor on campus can authorize it. Not the most ideal situation but a possibility for sure. Though that depends on the services given through the campus

Here's hoping you can find a therapist who can write the letter after only one or two visits. There may be one who is on a sliding scale payment system.

When I got my first ESA, my physician was able to approve him. I'm not sure if that's something you could do as well but I'm sure you could talk to your doctor about it.

Depending on how much your ESA helps you, it most likely is worth the money
