Therapist not a DID specialist, seeking advice

hello. Anyone else with a therapist who ISNT exactly a DID specialist but is trying their best to gather knowledge about the disorder and understand to help you?

I'm working with an interning therapist who's almost done getting her license. Pros: cheap ($20/session out-of-pocket) and fresh out of school. Cons(?): she referred me to a higher level of care because she didn't want to accidentally f*ck up during EMDR. I have to learn a lot more about my system through learning about my Self parts first before I can go back. Got too dissociated and couldn't ground:^(

our therapist is not a specialist for DID (in fact, she’s not technically a full therapist yet), and she does try really hard to acknowledge the system and individual alters

Same here! It’s a bit of a pain, but appreciated. I do wish I could get referred to a DID specialist
