I’m scared of gaining weight. Well, not just scared, I’m terrified of it. Does this make me fat phobic? Because I’m scared of looking bigger?

Do you hate or have negative feelings towards people that are overweight? They way you look at yourself doesn’t define how you see others. Fatphobic would mean you hate/think less of/judge others who are what you would consider fat. I can’t handle the idea of gaining weight but I don’t think anything less of anyone who is bigger than me. That’s how it works out in my bed at least.
@Archie13 I don’t treat them any differently because they are people who deserve respect just like everyone else. But, I just don’t want to look like them and that’s why I get the feeling that I am fat phobic. I can’t stop thinking this way and I feel awful because of it.

no, it’s a trauma based mental illness that has physical repercussions on you. fatphobic people are people conditioned by society to hate fat people for their bodies. as long as you aren’t insulting or treating fat people different then how you treat skinny people you’re fine.
