Struggling with Temperature Regulation

Does anyone else struggle with temperature regulation? I feel in the summer I get very hot and sweaty quickly, and then as soon as it’s even a little chilly I cannot get warm. I’m always cold. And then the cold makes me hurt more 😫

People told me for the longest time that my hot flashes and sweating were peri-menopause. Nope. And nope. I just can't regulate. And it doesn't matter the weather....sweats or shivers come on randomly at any time.

One of the worst parts of fibro is the temperature sensitivity. If it's over 85 or under 50 I cannot leave the house.

I seem to always be an extreme- in the heat I can be shivering or boiling, and when it's cold I'm either outside in summer clothes or inside unable to get warm at all

Yup 100%. I've got fibro, autism, and POTS so all of that jumbled together makes temperature (especially heat) practically unbearable lol

Absolutely. I get too hot or too cold all of the time. I always carry a fan and fingerless gloves in my purse if I get to hot or cold. I think it has to do with fibromyalgia connection to central sensitization syndrome.

Just FYI some medications can also cause issues with temp regulation (especially summer) but I think this is common in fibromyalgia

Yuuup. Pass out a lot in the summer from AC to heat, and am always turning the cooling down in my house. Also in winter I can't get warm without external sources, heating pad plus a warm shower b4 bed or I can't sleep bc of my feet.

Yes! I also have that when going in and out of different temps (i.e. into air-conditioning from the summer heat or into heated places from the cold winter weather)

me too! It makes me sick to my stomach and dizzy going in and out of different temperatures! My bedroom is a different temperature than the rest of the house and anytime i leave my room I feel like I cant function because I’m so uncomfortably cold
