Not sure I can tell you how long they are going to hurt but you can ask your hygienist to not use water and stick to manual tools, it's meant to be gentler

My gums hurt a little for about 3 days afterward but it’s not bad. It’s better to get them cleaned than to need a filling or route canal, which is more pain
