Does anyone else accidentally talk over someone and not realize it? I've noticed recently that I do this a lot and it makes me quite paranoid that I'm being annoying.

Maybe you could try some listening exercises with someone you trust. My mom and I had a hard communicating so my therapist had us each tell each other a story one sentence or thought at a time. The listener had to repeat what the story teller said before the story continued. At the end of story the listener had to summarize the story and was then able to respond. The respone was done in a similar manner to the initial story. Then we switched. Maybe this exercises could help you learn how to listen in the moment and refrain from think about what you want to say before the other person has finished their story.

i do it all the time tbh- its a struggle and has be getting yelled at and ridiculed a lot. the only thing that ive found that helps is by raising your hand or going "excuse me" and then talking. or just finding people that understamd why you do it and that you dont intend to be rude ykky

i do that at times too, especially when i really wanna say something and i don't know when the person has stopped talking for a moment. do the people you're talking to know you're impulsive? i know you mean well, so it's always good to try and clear up that your intention isn't to be rude or annoying. it's okay

@Curious_Panda26 that's just how you are. it's a good quality when it comes to people who genuinely care to have conversation. just something about you, if people don't like that quality, they just weren't made to be good conversationalists
