Has anyone tried trileptal? I’m switching over tomorrow and don’t know much about it

I took it in high school, and I really liked it but I had to stop taking it because I had just started taking hormonal birth control afterwards and I was told that not only can this med cause the birth control to not work as well as it should but it can also cause severe birth defects if I were to get pregnant on that medication

I just switched to it a bit ago and so far so good. My dad and my sister both take it. My dad has bipolar and my sister has borderline personality disorder. My mom has epilepsy and it helped her as an anticonvulsant. I think it's a good medicine. It takes some time to have it fully in your body but i think it's one of the best long term stabilizers. Some negative side effects could be rash, suicidal ideation And sometimes you need to check your blood to make sure your liver is okay. I hope you can find more info on it. Good luck!

It worked really well for me, but it caused extreme hair loss over a period of 3 years. I had no idea it was causing it till this year, so just watch for thinning.

Yes. It worked well for me but I had a rheumatoid reaction. It made me feel like I could think clearly.
