Switching from Sertraline: Experiences and Side Effects

Has anyone had an experience with changing from Sertraline (200mg) to another medication? I don't think Sertraline is helping anymore and I am thinking about switching to something else but I am REALLY scared of possible side effects that I could get during the transition. If you have changed, could you explain what side effects you had (if any) and what medication you changed on to? Thank you 😊

There are genosight tests you can take that will share with you what meds you can and cannot take. I tried sertraline and ended up not a good thing (because ADHD was my issue not depression) I've been on lamectal for mood as well. I highly recommend that gene testing though it will help the guessing game

i actually switched TO sertraline from citalopram a few months ago now and the side effects were a lot less than they were when i started meds in the first place, i think because they're the same class of medication. had some headaches and felt weird and dizzy for a couple days and that was it. transitioning is always a little weird i think, but if you're thinking of switching to a similar medication it shouldn't be too extreme. i hope this helps and wish you the best of luck! :)

I stayed on Sertraline- you tend to have bad side effects when first on them, I find taking them in the morning makes it less painful. After you get adjusted to them they’re honestly the best meds I have found for my PTSD and have literally been through so many so I know the drill 😂

I used to be on sertraline, and I moved to Lexapro, turns out neither worked because I had the wrong diagnosis, I did fairly well with it but I was on a lower dose, I had only been on it short term though, Lexapro was 10 times harder to get off then Zoloft for me though
