Need advice on switching antidepressants

So I switched over to the duloxetine/cymbalta in April, we were hoping it would help with my anxiety as well. But it really hasn't. And my depression has gotten worse. I see my new psychiatrist on Monday and am wanting to ask for a different med. I don't know if I should switch back to the Bupropion/wellbutrin because it was helping my depression before. Or if I should try a new antidepressant altogether. I'm ready taking buspirone, and they can't prescribe any benzos. Any advice?

I take Cymbalta and Wellbutrin together personally

I’ve been on duloxetine for almost a year and it hasn’t helped a bit, but due to covid I can’t find a new doctor to help me switch .

Thank you. And yeah, they're having me continue the hydroxyzine PRN. It makes me sleepy so it was decreased to 10mg and I only take it for anxiety/panic attacks and insomnia as needed. I'm back on wellbutrin and already the depression is getting better. But it's maybe giving me too much energy? If that's a thing. I'm just not used to having any energy. Lol

Try adding hydroxizine to the mix if you go back to welbutrin. And use nondrug techniques? One i learned takes 10 minutes. You first tighten your face. Really scrunch it up. Hold for 12 seconds and release. Then neck, shoulders and biceps, forarms, torso, glutes, thighs, calves, then feet. Flex and hold each group for 12 second and then release for 10 seconds. It works! Just remind yourself that someone with terrifying trauma and problems like me has used this with some success. You will be angry and not want to do it to help because your mind is screaming at you to "run run run!" And it will feel like someone handed you a fish to use as an umbrella, useless. Remember that is the disorder talking.

I couldn't really tell a difference and it increased my thoughts so I got off of it

Cymbalta made me sleep for a couple days straight so I couldn’t take it anymore. everyone reacts to medications differently also

But it helped me a lot to boop around and find one that worked. I still don’t *love* it and am seeing a new psychiatrist soon. Anxiety is still very bad. This is my 4th med to try.

Cymbalta has brought me down to what I like to call ✨regular crazy✨ where now I have panic attacks and anxiety occasionally rather than several times a day.

I've been on Cymbalta for a really long time. It's the only med that has helped me from feeling suicidal most of the time

i’m on cymbalta rn and haven’t noticed much of a change. i was on wellbutrin for a few weeks and my energy levels were way better but my anxiety was incredibly high so i got off of it. i’ve taken both prozac and lexapro and have had good days w both but took them for so long they kinda stopped working. would definitely see what works for you tho bc everyone is different!
