Hello everyone. I'm new here and this is my first post. I had a sudden, sharp pain in my outer forearm last night and it's carried on through the night and my lower arm feeling tingly, numb and like... dead weight. this is unusual from my normal symptoms of FM. I was wondering if this happens to anyone or if I should seek medical advice? Thank you.

I'm in no way disregarding fibromyalgia but I thought that's what was wrong with me and it turns out I also have severe spinal osteoarthritis which certain problems with the spine causes pinches nerves. I would have them do x rays for sure.

Sounds like a pinched nerve. I have one in my neck and that is exactly what it feels like. Happens most often in the middle of the night while I'm sleeping and it wakes me up.

Since this was already posted a day ago.??? How is it now? If it is increasing OR if any Heart Attack symptoms (like sweating bp, etc), recommend getting checked out.

@55isMe thank you all for your concern and advise! My arm still feels dead and its very tingly. I can't go to a&e because the wait is stupid, like 9 hours, so I'm going to call the gp in the morning and see them. My concern is its been dead weight since the occurance happened and that never happens; so going to get it checked ❤️

you could have a pinched nerve. this would happen to me a lot, especially when i was driving. the shock went up my elbow to the rest of my arm. went to a neurologist recently who confirmed it and got put on amitriptyline. it’s been helping a lot!

Welcome I have pain in my hands sometimes (like cramping in the palm in one hand and a sharp burning pain in the other between two knuckles). It just started recently. I also get numbness and tingling. It’s disturbing but my Dr said it is a symptom of Fibromyalgia. Hope you get relief soon. Be Well 🌺

I’ve also had similar experiences with my fibromyalgia but I also have chronic Lyme disease. But I also suffered a stroke and these symptoms might be a mini stroke. I would seek a dr help. Could be the fibromyalgia could be more serious. I only mention this not to scare you but to make sure that you don’t ignore symptoms!

I've had these symptoms for years with my fibromyalgia. In my arms, my legs, and my feet. I've also had spasms in my back as well.

Sounds like a nerve pinch in your neck or shoulder. Happens to me often. Going to PT on Monday. Will have my Rheumatologist xray if PT feels its necessary. I also have RA & OA with my Fibromyalgia. If I have a lot of neuralgia I take a B12 sublingual until it goes away.

Ive gotten this a couple times especially in my left arm. Ive gone to the ER but wasted my time because after all testing every time they said its not anything with my heart and probably just fibromyalgia or neuropathy or sciatica

This can be a symptom of fibro but it can also be a symptom of many other things that are more serious. Seem as this isn't something you have had before, I would suggest going to a medical professional!

I've felt this very similar sensation. I was concerned at first, but then, with some Tylenol and mindfulness, I was able to go back to sleep. I heavily considered going to the ER, but the sharp pain went away by the time I woke up again. How long has this specific pain episode lasted?
