Hello, i’ve just turned 18 in September 2021 and I never really had bad acne until around my 18th birthday, but now I break out all over my face, has anyone found anything that works for them?

Definitely see a dermatologist in person if you can. I tried most non prescription stuff as well as pretty much every prescription topical ingredient there is (through an online derm) with 0 improvement before finally going in to see one in person. I’m just now getting on oral medication and hoping it works. I wish I would have seen one sooner because I’m likely going to retain a decent amount of scaring due to all of the “try something and wait months to see if it works” topical methods that I did.

I was the same way. Clear skin through middle school and high school, then bam. Nightmare skin as soon as I get to college. I think it’s hormonal, just because i never went through an acne phase during puberty. My derm prescribed Winlevi (clascoterone) so I wouldn’t have to take birth control pills, and it (mostly) works.
